Last week, an Israeli air missile struck the Al-Fakhoora School run by the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in the Jabalia refugee camp, killing at least 15 people and injuring 54, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
The declaration came the same day the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry 15 people were killed and 70 wounded during an Israeli airstrike at a school-turned-shelter in the Jabalia refugee camp north of Gaza City.
The school, located in the Jabalia refugee camp, had already been struck earlier this month, and was previously targeted by Israeli forces during escalations of violence in 2009 and 2014.
